What steps should you take to become a Technical Consultant?

Education

We found that 72% of Technical Consultants hold at least a Bachelor’s degree. Yet only 33% believe you need a degree to work with Salesforce, while 60% consider a degree to be an important factor when it comes to increasing earning potential.

Certification

Earning official vendor-accredited certifications is a great way to upskill and verify your knowledge in the eyes of potential employers—93% of Technical Consultants are certified, and 86% of those respondents believe that certifications help candidates stand out in a competitive job market.

As with the Functional Consultant position, there are no role-specific certifications for Salesforce Technical Consultants at the moment, but there are plenty of certifications you can earn depending on the app(s) you choose to specialize in. Once you have the prerequisite Certified Salesforce Administrator qualification, you’ll be able to tackle the following certifications:
